The Workshop: “The Natural Makeup Look”

Over some bottles of bubbly, a dessert spread, and party favors to send home with our party guests, we were ready to have a delightful, fun-filled afternoon.

Look at how amazing our banner came out, special thanks to the awesome Sakura Paper Co.

Aspire to Inspire

At Ting Makeup and Hair, we not only add that touch of perfection to our brides, but we hope to inspire women to embrace their natural beauty everyday. Most of our participants were previous clients or brides who were inspired by the finished looks we provided them on their special days. Some of our guests even joined us after admiring our makeup artist’s everyday makeup look! To top it all off, our dear friend and long-term client, actress Ashlyn Pearce, best known for her role as “Aly Forrester” on “the Bold and the Beautiful”, also graced us with her presence for an afternoon of beauty and fun.

Natural v. Nature

Makeup trends may come and go, but “natural makeup” is everlasting. Beyonce may have started the infamous hashtag, #iwokeuplikethis, but we all know rolling out of bed looking like a million bucks takes a little more work than it lets on.
Well, on Dec 6th, 2014 we got ready to dish our beauty secrets and expertise to a group of 12 beautiful women at our “Natural Makeup Workshop”! Our guests learned how to find foundation and blush that are complementary to their skin tone while highlighting facial features and concealing any flaws.

You, but Better

The key to natural makeup with an elegant touch is: balance between you and your choice of beauty products. That shade of foundation we covet? It should enhance our natural beauty rather than mask who we truly are.

The Foundation

A flawless base is essential to achieving that natural, luminous look we all yearn for. Too light! Too dark! Too pink! Too sallow! These are common concerns shared by beauty junkies everywhere. Leave it to us to dispel these worries by showing our guests how to find the perfect shade of foundation for their skin tone.

Staying True to Yourself

Each and every one of us has facial features unique to who we are! We provided the ladies with personalized tutorials on how to accentuate their natural features. Our team demonstrated how to get the perfect  brows to flatter their different face shapes. They learned how to use powder to contour and highlight and received tips on eyeliner and eyeshadow application to open up their beautiful eyes.

Flirty Lashes

What did we do to top it all off? How about some fluttery lashes to go with those Bambi eyes! Our team showed them the ropes on how to apply false lashes that are bound to make bystanders wonder: My, have your lashes grown!

Royal Flush

What’s a fresh look without some pinched-pink cheeks and natural lips? Often overlooked, the blush and lips duo is actually just as vital as having a perfect base. We showed our ladies how to get a pretty flush of color to add life to their overall look. Each individual’s complexion plays a major role in determining the proper blush and lip color to use!

Voila! With their finished looks, our beautiful guests had their portraits taken by a professional photographer! We emailed them their personal photos for their own keeping and sent them home with party favors and a fresh, new look.

Thank you all for coming to our natural makeup workshop. Hope you all had a great time!

Cheers to the impending New Year and a successful workshop!

xoxo,
Ting Makeup
