For many brides, their hunt for the perfect wedding dress is just one of the many hurdles on their journey to the big day. Taking the wedding guests’ breath away once while walking down the aisle just isn’t enough. When it comes to the wedding reception, looking breathtaking twice sounds just about right.
The Gown:
Pearlescent in soft variations of off-white cream and purplish grays, the Lucca Maxi gown by Watters is simply magical. The highlight of this dreamy gown is the intricately sequin embroidered bodice with sheer paneling along the front and back. The paneling above the dipped back keeps the look classic and tasteful, showcasing the ongoing lace embroidery of the bodice.
What makes this gown so special is the unique details featured in a tasteful way. From every shade of color to every sequin, the details complement one another in a demure fashion. Watters hit the mark with designing a gown that almost reminds us of the iridescence of sheen found in an oyster’s shell.
With the intricacy of the gown, we chose to keep accessories at a minimum. We selected the Petite Crystal Drops Earrings by Kenneth Jay Lane to add some sparkle to our look without taking away the focus from the gown itself.
To add that pop of color for our bride, the talented florist, Star Events Floral Designs by Jennie, created this playful bouquet of flowers. The bouquet was just what we imagined for our bride with the unique selection of flowers in a mix of vanilla cream, peach, and sherbet pink.
Ting Makeup and Hair Styling:
To complement the soft tones of the gown and earthy vibes for this shoot, we kept the makeup gorgeously natural. A flawless base is the key to bringing out the bride’s complexion. A soft pink blush was applied to the cheeks to add just enough flush to our blushing bride. To stick to the natural makeup look, we chose a soft pink that beautifully complemented her skin tone.
With beauty fans tooting their whistles for the original Naked eye-shadow palette by Urban Decay, you can bet that it’s just as much a beauty staple of ours, as well! With the Naked palette, we were able to create a soft, natural smoky eye to help bring out her beautiful eyes.
The Hair Trend: Natural and Textured, Without the Structure
Our bride’s beautiful blond locks had some wonderful texture. Considering the dress was quite the focal point with all of its intricate details, we wanted to keep her tousled locks in a soft, ladylike up-do. This hairstyle was a wonderful choice for the dreamy dress, with a nonchalant, wispy style.
The latest bridal trends are all about the natural look. Those times when we combed away our little flyaway are put on the back-
burner for now. Natural, tousled looks are here to stay. Meaning we want those tiny wisps of hair flowing with the natural
movement of our hair. The look we get is soft and ladylike, rather than sleek and structured.
Our talented photographer, Tina Chiou Photography captured these magical moments for us. Tina Chiou is a talented rising star in this industry! With features in multiple bridal blogs such as “100 Layer Cake”, “Wedding Chicks”, “Magnolia Rouge”, and more, the sky’s the limit for her ambitions. And we are honored to have her on board with us here at Ting Makeup and Hair!
