The Back story:
Our groom for this engagement session is one of my childhood friends, Alex. When we first interviewed Cat, our bride-to-be, on how the couple first met, she simply replied, “We met through friends, and that was it. It’s not that interesting.” Her simple and quite humbling response was definitely not a reflection of their admiral love for one another. Being around the couple throughout this shoot definitely magnified their love for each other to those around them. It is apparent in the photos that they are such a fun couple, full of laughter, and adoration for one another! Aside from styling the outfits, makeup, and hair for this shoot, we will be joining them in Taiwan as their artists for their nuptials on May 2015!
We had Tina Chiou Photography as our special photographer to help capture these sweet moments for our Mr. and Mrs.-to-be!
His & Hers
Outfit 1
Hers
This look was inspired by our “Princess in Every Girl” post with the same Space 46 Boutique white, tulle skirt. However, we kept things more casual to match our bride’s casual and sporty personal style. To do so, we paired the skirt with a denim chambray button-down top to keep the look “down-to-earth”.
Sticking to the casual, sporty vibe, the bride added a pair of white Converse sneakers to bring the look together. After all, she is a bride so a dash of white was absolutely necessary!
His
The groom complemented his bride’s look by matching her with a similar denim shirt by Ben Sherman. We intentionally chose different shades of blue for the bride and groom to give them both a varying dynamic in the photos. He completed his look with a pair of Diesel jeans and Jack Purcell Converse sneakers.
Outfit 2
Hers
To showcase our bride’s long, slender gams we chose a navy and white striped high-waisted short skirt by Aqua. Keeping the look sweet and care-free, we paired the skirt with some white Keds.
His
The groom stuck with the nautical vibe for his second look as well. He sported a crisp white, collared shirt to brighten up their look with a wonderful contrast. We then paired his shirt with navy Katin shorts and a pair of Sperry boat shoes. They wanted to stay true to their natural everyday looks for casual outings together, so this look paid tribute to them wonderfully!
Outfit 3
Hers
We love how beautiful white translates in oceanside photos, adding a sense of purity and simplicity. We chose an adorable, white Elizabeth and James dress matched with a pair of Tory Burch sandals to keep the look seaside appropriate! To add a touch of glam, she wore a Hermes bracelet to complete her final look.
His
For his last look, the groom wore a cozy, striped sweater and pair of beach shorts, both from J. Crew. To match his bride’s casual look, he wore a pair of Sanuk sandals.
This shoot was a wonderful reflection of the beautiful couple. A simple love story filled with enormously, pure love for one another. We loved how they stayed true to themselves as a couple for their engagement session! Ting Hair and Makeup are absolutely honored and flattered that they asked us to style the hair, makeup, and three outfits for this shoot! See you in May, Alex and Cat!
